Preliminary Research
We looked at Current Wearable Fitness Apps on the Market:
- Nike Training Club
Pros: Customizable programs for different fitness levels, Diverse database of free workouts
Cons: Limited tracking feature, Only one program at a time, Lack of stand-alone vitals monitoring
- Apple Fitness
Pros: It has the ability to measure and record dozens of different workouts, Lots of features: Analyze your workout history, make personalized workout recommendations, provide health tips, Works with Apple Watch: Integrates with Apple Watch to make it even more convenient to manage your workouts. Motivate: Motivate yourself to exercise by setting goals, tracking your progress, competing with friends, and more.
Cons: Available for Apple devices only: Not available for Android devices.
Possible accuracy errors: Data can be inaccurate due to sensor errors or environmental influences.
- Aaptiv
Pros: Audio-based classes, Thousands of workouts, New classes each week, Goal-based programs, Free trial for annual plan
Cons: Fewer coaches than competitors, No information on nutrition, Must sign up for annual plan to get the free trial
